Well, I watched the first episode, only because I was in the room when the TV was on (At work), and caught glimpses of 'Rosa', and after than consciously avoided the crap. I couldn't help but wonder how Chinballs had the out-and-out effrontery to be such a complete and utter cunt to Pip and Jane Baker for what they did in TOATL, when a few people here know that I think that was one of the few veins of untrammeled genius of the eighties era, especially since they were drafted in at the last minute to make sense of the whole season and turned it into a brilliantly allegorical piece. Chinballs now has the distinction of being the helmsman behind the worst rated era of Who ever, so I sincerely hope that this video comes back to haunt him big style, when a modern fan rips HIM a new one...

Strictly's finale got 11.7m viewers last night without timeshift and iplayer, which pretty much demonstrates that there are huge audiences to be captured out there. Evidently, Doctored View isn't one of them.

Put it this way. A show full of chintzy sets, glitter, women flashing their gussets, and men mincing around like they're trying to work a fresh turd out of their trouser legs, smashed SJWho out of the park.

Even Series 10 had a very decent audience rating of 72%.

It's dropped from 47 to 34 ish in a week. Meaning all the mythical "catchup figures" are complete bullshit. The more people who see it, the lower the score is going. It's below Last Jedi / Soylo failure level now.

Hopefully Whittaker's last line on new year's day will be

The disparity between the critics opinions and the actual consumers has now become so wide its time that the credentials. and motives of these "top critics" needs to be examined.
Doctor Who fan for over 40 years, and I've stopped watching. Jodie Whittaker is dreadful in the role and Chris Chibnall is the worst show runner in the shows history. Boring tedious pious garbage."

I tend to side with critics when it comes to art films - where the general public will pan a film for being 'boring' and 'pretentions' because they don't really understand what they're watching and aren't the target audience.

Otherwise, critics tend to be entirely politically homogenous and prone to bandwagoning. With mass-market media the opinions of critics are almost worthless these days.

Most critics are usually one of three things: industry conformists/climbers, paid shills, or ideologically possessed to the point where they'll turd polish any 'texts' that fit their political agenda.

The mainstream media broke their bonds with the people long ago in an attempt to influence political behaviour.
