I'd probably go for Day of the Daleks as the best story that year too.

I would definitely add The Godfather as a fantastic movie in 1972. As for Who stories, my favourite is The Sea Devils.

I missed 1971, but Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is another fantastic movie in that year. Holds a special, nostalgic place in my heart.

I'm just going to do one for the whole of the Seventies rather than go by year.
