Possibly, I'll keep watching and let you know. I haven't read the book so I don't know if the show is being weird for the sake of it or if the pieces will slowly come together, but it's so strange that I want to keep watching just to find out.

The trailer for Star Trek: Discovery was released recently.
And a trailer for a new Star Trek parody series.
I'll probably skip that one.

Prequel to Kirk and Spock
Yeah, a prequel to Pine Krik and Quinto Spock more like
It's pretty sad when an unfunny McFarlane vanity project looks more in-keeping with Trek than that does.

It certainly looks more watchable and fun.

The Star Trek: Discovery people have put out a new trailer, it's mostly the same footage in a slightly different order and they've changed the style of the text. They've removed the slow song from it which makes it a little less embarrassing.
I thought this was supposed to be set in the same continuity as the other shows but the lens flare and canted angles scream JJ Trek. I'm just glad Bryan Fuller dropped out of showrunner duties before it even started production because this had dud written all over it.
I was going to say at least I liked the look for the starfleet uniforms, but in terms of quality there isn't much difference between them and the ones in Seth's silly comedy.
I bet if you took the Orville trailer, cut out most of the jokes and altered the colour and contrast to make it look more dramatic you'd with something that looks way more promising than Discovery. I'd even try it myself if Windows Movie Maker wasn't the only video editing software I have on this computer.

I saw that trailer earlier today, I might check out the first few episodes but right now I think I'm going to pass on it. Not only does it not look very funny or entertaining but there are already enough continuity mistakes to say the creators just don't care.

I know they say to take it with a grain of salt but Midnight's Edge have been reliable in their other videos. Things don't look good for Star Trek: Discovery (STD) at all.

So I wonder if Star Trek Discovery is taking the premise of the unmade movie Planet of the Titans, as well as the ship design. It seems to be about finding - making a 'discovery' - of a Big Thing in deep space that the Klingons also want. Quite a neat premise for a Star Trek show - what compromises do they make to secure something like that? Which is the plot of the Iain M Banks novel Excession, of course, but still a good fit.
Also, the alien that can sense death must be huge fun at parties. 'I told you I was ill'.

Just watched the Flash season 3 finale and I won't be bothering with season 4. What a mess.

The Deep Space Nine fan in me was screaming Barry wound up leaving with the Prophets at the very end of that one.

I've also recently started watching Dark Matter, a show where 6 people wake up on a spaceship with no memories of who they are. It's a Syfy original so it doesn't have much of a budget and is a little cheesey. I really liked Alphas before they cancelled it so I'll stick with it and hope it entertains.
Watched the first few episodes of Suburgatory, it's funnier than I was expecting. Chris Parnell and Alan Tudyk are great as usual.

Harley Quinn is confirmed for the Gotham season 3 finale, I guess we'll finally find out if Barbara is this universes version as teased or if it'll be someone new. Judging from the latest trailer for the 2 hour finale, Selena will also be taking steps toward her Catwoman alterego, corset and whip included.
I'm about halfway through season 2 of F is for Family on Netflix and saw that the final season of Bloodline and season 5 of House of Cards have been added too. Orange is the new Black will be out soo as well. How the fuck is somebody supposed to be able to watch them all without falling behind and getting spoilers out the arse? Already had House of Cards spoiled for me.

Bought the complete series of The Persuaders. Never seen it before, but I love Roger Moore and I like The Saint, which is even earlier, so I don't see why I won't like this...

Watched most of Broken, starring Sean Bean as a priest.
Perhaps one of the best things the BBC has shown in years. Another winner from jimmy mcgovern. Not a barrel of laughs, though, and I hope Mr Bean's character defies expectation and doesn't get killed off!

Downloaded all episodes of The Goodies. Brilliant dumb fun. Graeme Garden could have been a decent Doctor.

Just saw the final episode of Pretty Little Liars. No spoilers but I think the show might have been better off ending with the A arc. Maybe my opinion will change when there's been time to take it all in and settle.

Watched a few episodes of Star Trek TOS, the first couple of episodes were a bit dull but I enjoyed "Charlie X". If it can keep up that type of momentum I can see myself getting into the show.

Ever Decreasing Circles.
I watch the whole lot about once every year.
Takes me back to simpler times.

The Last Post - A BBC drama set in 1965 about a British army unit fighting a Yemeni insurgency in the Middle East and the women and children who were there with them. Solid cast and production values that almost looks like a HD remaster of a 60s film. One of the best things on British tv right now and the best thing from the BBC in a long time.
Riverdale - A very cheesy but addictive teen drama. An adequate replacement for Pretty Little Liars. I'm still only on episode 8 or 9 of season 1.
Curb Your Enthusiasm - The new season is a huge disappointment. The plots are forced and over the top and most of the magic from the original run is lost. Hopefully they're just rusty from 6 years away and things pick up in the rest of the episodes.

Hot Metal. Brilliant 80s newspaper comedy with Robert Hardy and Geoffrey Palmer (and later Richard Wilson). Sort of a tabloid precursor to Drop the Dead Donkey, and still fricking hilarious. Fans of One Foot in the Grave should note this is where David Renwick began publically humiliating Wilson for laughs!
A typical scene:
I also nearly cracked a rib at the advert for the "RatWorld" theme park and some of its attractions - "The Magical World of the Loony Left, where lesbians frolic in the woods and money grows on trees."
Still fricking hilarious nearly 30 years on.
