Coins thrown into plane engine by elderly passenger for 'luck'
A superstitious elderly passenger delayed a flight in Shanghai after throwing coins at the engine for good luck, a Chinese airline has confirmed.
The 80-year-old woman threw her change at the China Southern Airlines flight as she crossed the tarmac to board.
She told police she launched the coins as she "prayed for safety" on Tuesday.
Of the nine coins launched, only one hit its intended target - but this was enough to force the evacuation of 150 passengers for several hours.

You should read "The Pickles papers" book. It's a fascinating account of the corruption and poor management of Pickles in Bradford. He tried to sew the author for it, but the book was praised highly upon publication by the select accounts commitee who argued Pickles potentially commited serious offenses in office and mishandled money.

Very edgy.
It's called discretion, tact and context. The law is their to stop unlawful stallholders i.e. profiteers from making a killing without paying the relevant levies to the council.
It isn't there to police 5 year old girls who are effectively playing at having a business, while accepting nominal amounts of cash over a piece of tiny furniture.
Making the girl cry and fining her £150 is neither proportional, nor compassionate given the circumstances. Four officers stormed over and intimidated her for little more than wanting to make people happy.
Sometimes I wonder if someone didn't remove your brain and shit in your skull 30-odd years ago.
BELLUND.

Law is blind. You are guilty or not guilty. She broke the law. Other`s paid money for a license and she did not. Not her fault, she was too young. But she still broke the law. What the police should have done is spoken out of earshot to her father, and then fined him. He should have known better than to allow his daughter to do this. Also, what a fucking terrible father. Allowing strangers to approach his daughter and do this on her own. She could have been kidnapped or worse. I strongly feel social services should have words with him over this.
