Actually a while back, I posted a thread in which I discussed my own experiences of expectations versus the reality of how a given story actually turned out.

Morbius, Resurrection.

The Enemy of the World and Resurrection of the Daleks particularly stand out in this regard, although Resurrection is undoubtedly a weaker story than Enemy.
The Ark in Space is another, although I can’t say it left me feeling hollow as such. It’s just not as good as many other classics from the era, though I may need to re-watch it at some stage. Earthshock is similar in that it is certainly a rather good story, but not one I’m as keen on as most others.

Enemy's wild instant overrating the moment it was found still baffles me.

Yeah, Resurrection always left me feeling hollow.
As for the first two Dalek stories, I'm not calling them crap but they have never been all time favorites.
The first four parts of The Daleks are excellent but its the last 3 parts that I find myself struggling to watch and The Dalek Invasion Of Earth is wildly overrated and even more dragging in places IMO.

It was interesting to watch Youtuber Seventh Hour Films reactions to high-brow stuff like Kinda. He and his father were not impressed.
