I voted The Dark Knight Rises in the end. It's the one I got most emotionally involved in.

I rewatched the Burton Batman films a few months back, and was surprised how superficial they now felt, and how many holes of logic they had.

True, the Burton films are pretty thin on plot, but they really were great at conveying the comic book nature and atmosphere of Gotham City and I'd take the Art-deco, Metropolis inspired Gotham of those films over the hideous neon nightmare that was Schumacher's Gotham and the dull New York/LA avatar of the Nolan films. Also Keaton's Batman felt more menacing than Bale, who most of the time in all honesty came off as trying TOO hard to be intimidating.

I don't hate the Nolan films and I think Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are good films but I'm afraid I don't really care that much for The Dark Knight Rises. Tom Hardy and Anne Hathaway aside, the whole film just feels dull, dreary and I just come away from it leaving hollow to be honest.

I wouldn't describe his Gotham as hideous at all. Both Batman Forever and Batman & Robin are visually superior to the Burton films. I fucking love neon!

Any version of Gotham certainly ain't as bleak as Hammersmith.

B&R and Batman Forever joint.

I'd rank them like this:
