Which is the best story of the Key to Time season? I lean towards either Stones of Blood or Androids of Tara myself.

Androids of Tara. Classic.
However it was a coin's toss between that and Ribos Operation.

Stones of Blood, especially episodes 1 an 2.
Otherwise the season was a bit patchy. Mary Tam was good but Tom seemed to phone his performance in.
The other stories were all a bit humdrum to me.
I quite liked Ribos - Binro was brilliant and the comedy duo Cuthbertson-Plaskitt were good fun.
The only other story i liked was Armageddon Factor. Nice performance from William Squire (Hunter in the colour series of Callan).
Pirate Planet was a nice story but had some awful performances in it - The Captain, Nurse, Pralix, his Dad.
Androids of Tara was a rather poor cheap rip-off of Prisoner of Zenda while Planet of Kroll seemed to be a cheap, poor rip-off of King Kong. Madoc shined but everyone else was dull and boring. Jeffries was also good in Tara.

Stones of Blood, by some distance. Especially the hugely atmospheric first half which is almost like a last blast of Hinchcliffe momentarily cutting through the increasing tedium of the Douglas Adams influence.
Season 15 was the beginning of the end for me, whilst Season 16 was half way there, with S17 being the coffin lid being nailed down.
In 1978 I'd been watching for 8 years, but my personal era was over.

The Ribos Operation. Massively underrated, and possibly even Holmes' best script. Top 20 for me, love it.
