Good on RTD. Clearly in spite of what he says, he doesn't like what Chibs has done. (How could he?) I suspect this is part of why he revealed this to wipe Chibs era Who from canon.

I will say though that I didn' enjoy that excerpt much. It was far better than Chibs one, that was just a lot of nonsense. Still he is making the Time War too big a thing. I know it's supposed to be this Lovecraftian nightmare, but the idea that they keep recreating the earth to destroy it, that the Doctor has lived for 5 milion years and then been turned into a baby UGH, it just feels silly, but not in a good way.

Still at this stage I'd welcome anything that wrote New Who post 2013 out. This, coupled with Death Comes to Time, and Scream of the Shalka is just further conforming what I am saying that in the end, people will come to regard the 1963-89 series as the only true canon, with everything else just being open to interpretation.

Read it, and I thought that it was decent. Do love some of the confirmations such as Multiple Gallifreys. And the use of regeneration is poignant, never delving into 'I'll die and some new guy is going to replace me', more just 'hey, it's just a renewal process'. I'm guessing that RTD was just so far up his own arse when writing End of Time. The Time War also feels properly realised than either how Moffat or Big Finish had handled it. Just a creepy, Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror, which is perfect for 8's era. I'm willing to accept this tbh.
