RIP David Collings

David Collings has died aged 79. Collings is best known to Doctor Who fans for his role in the Tom Baker story The Robots of Death and the Peter Davison story Mawdryn Undead, but had a long career in British TV including the recurring role as Silver in early 80s genre series Sapphire and Steel and as the headmaster in Press Gang.

Very sad news indeed.

Indeed. Apparently, from the interviews he gave a few years ago, he had a great sense of self-deprecating humour and was modest about his talents - very different to the intense, suffering characters he played. RIP.
