Gallifrey Base: A Froum Hitler would have thought was a bit too fascistic.

I opened up an account there back in 09 like many people did, after Outpost Gallifrey closed.

I've probably been back a handful of occasions since.
I've always found it snide, cliquey & cold. Some of the worst people in fandom hang out there and consider it their home on the internet. Complete turds like Jon "Cheers" Blum.

Today, On a whim I decided to go back for the first time in years to see if my account still worked and what people were saying about last nights highly praised (on twitter) episode.

I found this waiting for me:

What a bunch of authoritarian twats. They seem to specialise in throwing out patronising semantics of imperatives as a means of ascertaining a lack of genuine discussion or conversation.

The Hive at least allows members to retain their autonomy in discussion- it seems to be a beacon of light amidst the cacophony of moronity within the fandom.

I stayed for about 10 minutes and never went back. The original OG was never that great anyway. I suppose I generally preferred smaller forums.
Roobarb's was my favourite place to troll. Briefly anyway, before they banned me.

I think the straw that broke the camel's back was a spoof post about the death of 'H' from 'Steps'. (A shit pop group) He didn't really die, but lots of people thought it was real.
I can't even remember what the joke was now. There might be a post about it on the original Hive. I'll have a look later if I get chance.

At least they wear their authoritarian cuntishness on their sleeves. Anyone masochistic enough to sign up to that shithole knows exactly what they're getting themselves into. I find the faux niceness of the equally authoritarian, cultlike r/doctorwho and r/gallifrey much more sinister.

Never heard of them. Here and PM is enough for me, and I suspect the only forums that wouldn't ban me after ten minutes.

Yes, Rob has a few words on Roobarbs, no doubt.
It's too long ago to remember the details, but they banned me because I mercilessly took the piss out of the mods/admin because they were so po-faced about me posting a joke picture in what was supposed to be a serious 'obituaries' sub-forum, and a few snowflakes complained that it was in poor taste.

The sad reality is that most internet forums suck. I got suspended from a forum a few days ago despite being a member for a mere two days! I had only posted six times and half of those were messages thanking members who welcomed me. I must have broken one of their six billion rules or something
