Author and fan Joe Hill (Stephen King's son) offers to write for Who, gets told no because he's American.

The fact that he's white doesn't help, does it?

Definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I just wonder if it was the Moffat or Chibnall regime that did it.

BBC: Fuck off, Americans!
NuWho fans:

Casual viewer: Tonight's episode didn't really click with me.
NuWho fans: RACIST, VERMINOUS PIECE OF SHIT. DON'T LET THE TARDIS DOOR HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT. WE DON'T NEED YOU ANYWAY DOCTOR WHO IS ABOUT "CHANGE"
Paul Cornell: You're 100% right!

Its a very harsh reply ...

"We have never let an American write Doctor Who, and if were going to, we wouldn't start with you".

Whatever happened to "Some good ideas in there Joe. Unfortunately not quite in tune with the show's current direction of travel. Thank you for your interest"?

Is this not racism? It certainly seems like it to me. Where's the uproar?

No chance of being a writer under the current regime.

If he'd applied to act one of the villainous roles, however, he'd have been snapped up!

Does anyone know if Joe Hill is a good or bad writer? I mean maybe his submission was pants (although i understand Neil Gainman did help him with it - which i would have thought was a good thing).
