Second time in the Capaldi era that DW has had to make an edit due to terrorist concerns.

Then again, I remember Human Nature, that scene with a Scarecrow carrying off a screaming child.
Believe it or not that happened during the first week of the Madeline McGann business and managed to sweep under the radar.

Doc is President like he was in series eight's finale

I really liked that one. I thought Nardole jumped the bacteria conclusion a bit too quick and there was a point I thought they'd ruin the episode by making it another simulation, but other than that I can't knock it.

The parallel plot actually tied into the main narrative, unlike last week, which in itself will tie into the narrative of next week, so it definitely rewards viewers concerns that all portions of this story are tied together. I hope Erica does'nt vanish after the big deal The Doc made about adding her to the TARDIS crew...

Should'nt have shown Nardole in the trailer, would have been nice not to have known his ultimate fate after he passed out

Swell escalation of stakes, consequential deaths, the soldiers done in by choosing their heads over their heart, and a much needed subversion of the power of love ending that has plagued this show for ages.

Unfortunatly I have on a certain Youtube podcast, but the guy in charge is consistently pessimistic about the show anyway.

S'alright.

A few one-dimensional military types jizzing out arse-biscuit dialogue, coma-inducing scenes between the pair in the lab, and no real explanation of how the Monk's restored the Doctor's sight other than their technical genius and omnipotence.

But apart from that it held my interest and the deaths have been wonderful.

Let's hope they don't blow it.

Think the sonic glasses have now had their day too. Google glass failed, and so should the Doctor's array of gadgetry. Man isn't Inspector fucking Gadget, he's the Doctor, and should be using his brains to get out of shit.

Presumably their is going to be a giant reality crisis, and the Doctor finds it impossible to resolve without damaging himself in some way. Bill's action has probably just deferred the inevitable.

It was fucking crap.

It's like Moffat is just running out the clock. These last few episodes a flat, lifeless mix
of incoherent and boring.
The plot, dialogue and acting aren't even interesting enough to suck.

I thought this was okay. I could have lived without the President of Earth silliness (do we really want to be reminded of the godawful series 8 finale? I don't think we do) but it was solid enough.
The use of the Doctor's blindness to get to the end point was clever, but I'm not sure I buy Bill doing it; I just don't see Bill being close enough to him yet to really sell out the entire planet to save him. I could see Rose doing that, certainly, and even Amy, but Bill?
In the end, though, this is part 2 of a 3 part story, and it all depends on next week.

Moffat's definitely playing with the notion of consent in the story.

I think it's meant to make you feel discomfort.

That explains why Nardole jumping to "bateria" seemed so rushed, like they should have had another wrong suggestion or two before it.

I was expecting the cut to be a quick comment after the monks hijacked the plane or some terrorist imagery when they were shown the destruction in the world.
