Thank god. As always when you see a celeb trending on twitter I thought he had died!

John Carpenter IMO would have been a great person to revive DW in the early 00s. His movie Prince of Darkness reminds me of Pyramids of Mars, whilst the Thing and Seeds of Doom both draw from the same source.

IMO he would have restored it to Hinchcliff levels of horror.

I have to say I forgot how chilling and haunting The Thing was until I rewatched it recently.

It's lost none of its power.
