Brilliant voice, strong powerful vocals. I could listen to her all day.

Yes Paloma has always been one of my faves alongside Amy Winehouse (obviously) Caro Emerald and V V Brown (in all departments, music, persona, who I fancy LOL.) She might be the most talented after Amy herself.

She's one of the best live performers I've ever seen in my life. In fact a lot of her live performances are better than the ones she's recorded. This one in particular is one of the best I've ever seen.



Her music is also a lot more creative, imaginative, and quirky than a lot of her contemporaries.

Her latest album however wasn't quite as good. It got a bit political. Having that little scrotum Owen Jones on before a track pissed me off so much I contemplated not buying it, as I didn't want to give that little cunt even a penny.

Ultimately I thought well, I liked her before he did, so why should he deprive me of hearing her latest album.

Its not a bad album by any means, but it could have been better. When it comes to politics Paloma's not the worst. I agree with most of her politics tbf (I'm a socialist too.) Also she isn't obnoxious about it. You don't see her smearing people as racists, homophobes, virtue signalling, or attacking people as this and that. She normally keeps it to herself tbh which is a good thing.

Compare Lily Allen who I was a huge fan of back in the 00s as a teenager, but has become an utter joke through her Rik from the Young Ones style political rants on twitter. Paloma is nowhere near as bad as Lily.

Still I hope she stays off of the politics in the future.

Jones appears twice in the video for her song "Warrior". Its up to her but she didn't need him in it. The other images she uses clearly articulate the causes she wanted to support in that song. His smug face merely irritates and annoys, distracting from the rest of the song.  

I would prefer her to stear clear of the politics myself.

8 years today. Still missing you Amy. Hard to believe its been that long. Shows you how little there's been musically in the 10s.

Amy passed away at the start of this decade and since then no one has come close to her in terms of talent, impact and influence. That's not just my opinion. Amy paved the way for a whole wave of eccentric female singers, from Lady Gaga, to Paloma Faith to Adele, she made British music popular in the US again after a decade long lull, and had an instantly imitable iconic look.

Which artist can you say has done the same since? Back in the 60s, 70s, even the 80s you had dozens of singers and bands that you could call icons, who had a noticable impact on the industry, like David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, The Doors etc. Amy however has been the only one in the last 10 years.

Here's hoping the roaring 20s isn't as much of a wasteland as the 2010s.
