What aspects of Nuwho are you insulted by?

The dumbed down dialogue? The "quick fix" resolution for almost all of the stories? The constant pandering to people that otherwise don't really care about the established history of the series?

- Magic solutions to problems that are completely ridiculous and far-fetched even by Doctor Who standards. (Rose destroying an entire army of Daleks with the powers of the Time Vortex, the Doctor turning into flying Space Jesus, clones of the Doctor growing out of hands, flying the Earth back home, Cybermen being released from their bodies and being turned into immortal puddle gods)

- The bastardisation of the Doctor's character (Falling in love with 19 year old chavs, crying over regeneration, gunning down innocent fellow Time Lords in cold blood, punching people in the face who rub him the wrong way, hoping for an "all girl future")

- Disrespect of the show's history and lore (Retconning the Doctor's reason for leaving Gallifrey, retconning the Master into hearing drums in his head ever since he was a child, Cyber-Brigadier, retconning the 1st Doctor into being a sexist pig, turning regeneration into a sex change operation)


And on top of all that, just plain shitty writing.

The fact that it started off 'fresh', albeit flawed, but went on to become a continuity circle jerk (after all the born-again New Who drones initially ridiculed the old show for doing the exactly the same).

So, in essence, the flaky hypocrisy of fans when the new show does things they used to criticise the old show for doing.

Which proves that their appreciation is purely tribal; thin-as-tracing paper.

But the thing that pissed me off most was the handelling of disabilty issues. The Doctor kicking davros to the floor and stealing his chair was utterly disgraceful, no matter how dickish Davros is. Well personally Genkimonk I think you're right on most issues, but here I disagree. I don't believe that DW or any tv show influences people to do bad things. Also I don't think most people even think of Davros as being disabled.

I mean his chair can fly, he shoots electricity out of his fingers, and the Doctor stole his chair because it had a forcefield around it.

However I do find it funny that if you were to complain about this you'd be dismissed as a ming mong by the likes of RTD and Moff, but if its a tumblr feminists saying that Matt Smith's Doctor promotes rape then they have to apologise.

These people are selective. Genkimonk was quite right to bring up the Davros thing because I remember nobody being the least bit offended by it. I spoke to an American teenager back in 2015 about the show and she said she found that sequence "very funny." They only get offended when it suits. They couldn't care less about people with a disadvantage.

There used to be some archived material out there featuring Tardis wheelchair ramps and other positive, dramatic aspects of disability the producers could use to ramp up the suspense in chase scenes.

Although at the time in the 80's there was the complaint the show was being shot like the 1960's, those stories at least situations and depth as opposed to the constant changing of settings to disguise how lesser the story and less developed the supporting characters are.

In about 20 years time we will be dealing with right wing SJWs who will have dismantled the NHS, made working hours and conditions even more unbearable, gotten rid of the wlefare state, and privatised just about everything.
