Duran Duran. Ordinary World (1993). I think this was when they did a come-back in 1993. One of their best songs in my view.

Peter Davison put his rock'n'roll face on in the eighties with this seminal piece of popular melodic art - the theme to Button Moon. Sung with his ex-wife Sandra Dickinson.
That title sequence is just crazy. JNT must have been spitting in his weetabix when he saw that star field racing past the tv screen, far surpassing his own Dr Who title sequences.

I was about to post that piece as well! It’s probably my favourite piece of music in Who history. Tristram Cary was a fucking genius.

Totally agree! I also like this eerie and suspenseful piece. It was effectively reprised in Power a few years later.

The Enemy Of The World soundtrack. Essentially a compilation of pieces from Bartók’s ‘Miraculous Mandarin’ and ‘Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta’.

I loved the use of Bartok's music for the Yeti reactivation scene in The Web Of Fear.
On a side note, that piece was also used for The Shining.

It was indeed! Strings, Percussion and Celesta III, I believe. A truly haunting piece. If The Web Of Fear and Stanley Kubrick have something technically in common, that says it all as to the intelligence of Classic Who compared to New Who.

One of my favourite Kate Bush tracks. While we’re at it, I’ll put up the Alan Partridge cover of her songs:
