Fear Her is another one I loathe. The writer has since come out and said that it wasn't written for the older fans and that young kids enjoyed it, but I was seven in 2006 and even I thought it was rubbish. It doesn't ruin the legacy of the show or anything, but it's probably the most boring episode ever made with little to no redeeming qualities to speak of.
Which is the worst Nu Who episode, and why is it the worst?

At seven you were probably too old to enjoy Fear Her!
The only reason to rewatch it is to work out who's the worst actor out of Tennant, the kid and Huw Edwards playing himself.

Love and Monsters then Fear Her.
Look, I get the point behind bottle episodes and/or Doctor Lite ones from a budgetary/actor time point of view but these were definitely two episodes it would have been better to cut the episode count by one (or more) and put the money into the other episodes.
Wouldn't surprise me if there's some sort of contractual situation that makes this less straightforward than this sounds, though.

Watched about 10 minutes, wasn't too bad until Nurse Who turned up. She's awful, and I can't take her seriously for a second. Nah, it's not for me anymore, I'm out.

I'd say that many flaws are outweighed by political injects. A badly written episode is pretty harmless, possibly enjoyable. An episode that insults you and/or a large part of the audience with a contra-intellectual basis: that's not just 'bad', it's anti-art. I'd rather watch Love and Monsters.

The Ghost Monument, another dismal failure. At least we can all agree that Jodie Whittaker sucking has nothing to do with her gender. She just sucks.

I'm astonished you're even still watching. The Hive now officially gives so few fucks we can't even be bothered to do individual episode threads anymore.

Arachnids in the UK. Not only is it the most pitiful, amateurish lump of absolute filth ever to have defiled the Doctor Who legacy, it's the single worst piece of fiction I've ever encountered. I'd rather spend an entire day watching Fear Her on a loop than see this piece of shit even one more time. When even cucks like MrTARDIS can't bring themselves to defend it, you know you're in trouble.
Whittaker's "acting" is at its absolute worst. Horrifically exaggerated and overdone. She's godawful at the best of times, but here she practically redefines what it means to be unwatchable. Cringeworthy doesn't even begin to describe it. The most unbelievably terrible performance I've ever seen in the history of television, film or theatre.
The virtue-signalling is clumsy even by Chibnall's standards. The Trump stand-in and his hilariously bad gun control quips. His niece who literally just appears, tells us she's a lesbian, then dies. The multiple hints at a lesbian affair between The Doc & Yaz. The suggestion that Russians are behind the giant spiders. The contrived point about corporate waste disposal that contradicts the initial explanation for the spiders' size. It's beyond parody.
The number of plotholes and contradictions in what should be an exceptionally simple plot to execute are unreal. First, we get the bullshit explanation that the spiders are genetically engineered and growing in accordance with their longer lifespans, no doubt so that Chibnall could feel smug about including "real science", even though any arachnologist could tell you there's no fucking way they'd survive long enough to reach that size. Then he throws all of that out the window and gives us the even more laughable "toxic waste mutation" explanation for the sole purpose of virtue-signalling about corporate waste disposal. We're explicitly told that the spider in the flat is trapped there and can't cross the line of acetic acid. We're then expected to accept that every single spider in Sheffield can be lured back to the hotel in a matter of seconds from several miles away by a PA system none of the numerous implied to be outside of the tunnels would possibly be able to hear!
Oh, and Jesus Fucking Christ, that mainstream millennial-pandering ending with the shitty Stormzy track. Excuse me while I vomit blood. Can you imagine ANYTHING further removed from the spirit of Doctor Who? Well, apart from turning The Doctor into a twisted, masochistic freak who'd rather watch a bunch of innocent animals starve, suffocate and crush each other to death than quickly put them out of their misery... Yes, that actually happened.
The Radio Times gave this shit five stars!

Spiders review:
"I’m in my happy place. I’ve watched a Doctor Who I thoroughly enjoyed. The first three episodes had much to recommend them, showed the programme going in a new direction with fresh talent aboard, and now it feels like they’ve properly settled in. I’ve always relished a monstrous menace in the now, a few shivers and jump scares, a bit of social comment – and a smattering of mirth. Arachnids in the UK has it all.
Remembrance review:
Remembrance doesn’t have a shred of the atmosphere conjured by Waris Hussein’s debut episode, An Unearthly Child. Not for one second am I convinced that this drama takes place in London 1963. Horrible dance-beat music and harsh on-location video-recording place it slap-bang in the 1980s.

So he attacks a story created in the 1980s for having 1980s production values, not to mention drastically limited time & resources. I wonder how snooty reviewers will look back on the current show?

Arachnids in the UK, for reasons perfectly articulated by ClockworkOcean. Although Death In Heaven and Twice Upon a Time are very close behind. Death in Heaven’s insulting script which often seems to spite the very essence of the programme and lead character through emasculating the Doctor and paving the way for the abundant farce of series 11, coupled with often fuck-awful direction and execution as well as the anti-intellectual vacuity of New Who in full force makes it a prime candidate in every sense. My review on the ‘Which Who stories have you watched recently’ thread outlines why in the best way I can.
Oh- and those reviews by the Radio Times are hilarious. They also give Journey’s End five stars, and seem to vehemently dislike the Williams era (including City Of Death and Shada). They seem to have specialised in New Who sycophancy.
Edit: I completely forgot about Hell Bent, which is absolutely up there amongst the other stories.
