Is there anything special about Imperial Emperor Davros?

I've always been a fan of this version of the Emperor/Davros. While simple it combines elements of the old comic, Golden Emperor with Davros as well as stops Remembrance from being all about Davros yet again.

That said I wonder if there is anything actually special about this version? From the outside the Imperial Emperor seems pretty defenceless. I always guessed old Davros could pop the hood and shoot beams from his eye like his clone head did in Revelation but is there more?

He rolls on and rolls off, I guess....

Give that he had his hand shot off prior to using this, I always took it as his body had finally decayed too badly. I also liked how he talked, showing he had essentially become a Dalek, until he is fully revealed.
