I actually saw Shatner recently at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.

(I was lucky it was on a week earlier, or else it would have been cancelled by the coronavirus.)

He was brilliant live. It's sad how he is still haunted by Leonard Nimoy's death. As much as I like NImoy I think it was shitty of him to ignore Shatner towards the end.

I really could do with getting to meet more of the Trek cast, especially the still living old veterans.

I think Shatner's coming to London in November. We also saw Wrath of Khan on the big screen just before he came out.

It still holds up as one of the best films ever made.

THAT is how you revive an old classic. (I remember debating with Jon Blum about that on GB. He actually tried to claim that New Who was a better sequel than Wrath of Khan, because it was written by fans, where as Khan wasn't. Sigh, lets not forget that GB is the enemy here not each other.)

Indeed.

The fact Nicholas Meyer was not a fan, but was able to still see merit in what the franchise could be, did indeed make him the right guy to helm Trek's comeback. Paired with Nimoy on Star Trek IV they produced brilliant magic together.

The mod powers were to stop us getting spammed. Also sadly we can't enjoy the freedom here we once had.

Not talking about Warriors of the Deep threads LOL, but certain subjects will get the forum shut down automatically. For instance when Penny posted a picture of Eliza Dushku with her tits out. (I think it was a dig against me from what I recall. Not sure how seeing Eliza Dushku's tits would punish me LOL. That's the best punishment I've ever received.)

Adam however (who I never really liked for the record) had to take it down as we would have been shut down for posting pornography.

Still we should be allowed to talk about stories we hate here. If Tanman just mentions hating Warriors that's not the same thing as baiting IMO as that is his opinion.

If he were to start whole threads devoted to attacking you personally, and keeps following you around on every post then yeah we would call him out.

The separate threads are what motivated me and seemingly others like Bernard to speak up about it. That was when it was getting out of control, but it didn't come out of nowhere as it was the end result of a lot of insults against each other.

I think he was just wanting to stop what had become personal attacks against each other from taking over other threads. (Adam did do the same thing to me with me and Penny's feud, though taht wasn't why I disliked him.)

At the end of the day you could always be a moderator too if you wanted the same power, but personally I think its best to just leave the feud.

Hey me and Boofer used to insult each other quite viciously, but now we talk normally. (And if he does slag me its more light hearted, about my posts being long winded.)

That's one thing I like about the Hive. We can overlook past feuds. Hell if Mike and Penny came back I could talk to them normally, I'm sure.

We're talking about an abuse of mod powers where someone lauds their opinion over others which is what is taking place.

The forum has become the same as Gallifrey Base because you've allowed someone who can't contain an impartiality mod powers.

Someone who is on record for having an abusive nature toward the forum and its members.

Agreed, and yes, I never approved of the separate locked threads at all (I don’t like that kind of authoritarian approach in the slightest). It’s partly why I felt obliged to speak up, as well as the fact that the feud was clearly getting over the top and dominating the forum anyway. Of course, I don’t mind Tanmann speaking his mind by any stretch and indeed approve of it- it’s good to have these sorts of discussions and I’ve had a fair few with him in the past. That, and I see the need to remove certain posts if they cross the line or entail something genuinely fascistic as to maybe get the forum shut down.

Although I wouldn’t personally silence or intrude someone for speaking their mind at all, which is why I became irritated at Rob’s posts being relocated into locked threads. That approach personally irks me. But does Tanmann still stick by what he said on the old forum about the Hive?

I don’t plan on starting my own feud here, and I get on well with both Rob and Tanmann. I’ll not say anything more on the matter.
