Quantum Leap: The Lost Ending

The lost ending to the series finale of Quantum Leap, which ended infamously with Sam leaping to tell Al's wife Beth that he was alive and to wait for him to come home, before never returning home himself. This recently discovered ending shows the aftermath, with Al now married to Beth and worrying about where Sam has gone, Beth assuring him he'll find him.

I still can't quite forgive the way it did end.

If this had been the last shot, it would've at least ended on some note of hope for Sam's return home in the end.

From looking into it, I believe the problem was Quantum Leap had fallen foul of its own Michael Grade in the form of NBC president Warren Littlefield, who did everything to sabotage the show from Series 4 onwards by scheduling it into the death slots, until eventually come the end of Series 5 it wasn't renewed.
