I don't personally believe in it. I feel as if I value my life more by not believing in an existence after death. I'm not depressed by it either.

No, there is no consistent and logical system of eschatological analysis that would suggest a life after death. It's purely a hope by rational omission.
That said, hope by rational omission - under delusion - is something I can sympathise with. We all do it, and it's essentially necessary for an intelligent being to retain emotional stability under regular philosophical examination.
