All Summer Heatwave (2018)

Hello and here is a thread full of me moaning about the weather. I hate hot weather and apparently we are gonna have 3 months of this shite.

I'm sceptical. Could just be we can a few warm spells and some warmer nights. Usually all ends in the flash bang of thunderstorms anyway.

As long as it isn't like 2003 I'll be happy. That was like living under a dalek death ray for weeks.

Yeah, I am sceptical but at the same time, I don't remember the papers being quite so bolshy about the weather. I am just grumpy cos I don't like sweating, getting sunburn or hay fever. I wouldn't mind living in the alps. Fuck tropical islands.

Let it snow again!

I prefer the summer because of the light and the day length.

I just end up hibernating in winter with a supply of sugary snacks, a full hard drive and a SAD light.

Why is it my Aussie friends can't handle the rare English heat then?

They visit London or the South on a hot day and can't bear it. We eventually worked out that it's probably the relative humidity, which tops 90% in parts of summer.

I can only imagine Brisbane or Sydney getting near that.

Old people ramble on about a 'different heat' when they fuck off to the Med to get dessicated by the sun. However, I can actually vouch for this, as I've put up with 40c+ in Greece and Spain without breaking a sweat, but remember nearly dying in 2003 when it hit 35c in Pompey.

A friend of mine who lives in Melbourne reckons one year it to 50c but that was a record breaker and usually, it gets to 40c. Darwin is boiling all year round I think but Melbourne seems to be their Scotland. I went to Melbourne in August 2016 and it was between 8 and 12.

Also picked up a strange liking for their breakfast TV - cos all their other TV is so shit - especially Ask Ita

Also, I was rather disappointed that Aussies seem to be determined to shrug off their national stereotype in favour of a bland cosmopolitan feel. I want to see corked hats you fuckers! Not pissing wine bars...

Depends where you are. Melbourne's weather is pretty bad. Adelaide gets pretty extreme in the summer sometimes but pretty cold in winter. I'm in the tropics now, which is warm all year round and stifling at times in summer!
