For explanation my argument is that gender dysmorphia is clearly a mental illness and denying this implies that you don't know what a mental illness is. Uncommon, maladaptive, co-morbid with a myriad of other conditions. Obviously this doesn't mean to treat the mentally ill unequally, but encouraging this is creating mental illness where it wouldn't otherwise exist, giving the subjects an impaired quality of life.
