bowelstreak?

Bit of a random question but what exactly was that account and why's it been banned?

I missed out on the conversation, but I think that they were insulting/demeaning transgender people and advocated for Hitler, and Neo Nazi rights. Probably best that they doesn't come back.

It was a sockpuppet troll account that's been stalking and baiting certain members for a while now. We have reason to believe it may be the same person as #BeKind, but we're not 100% certain of that.

He was banned for posting a thread called "Final Solution to the Transgender Question" that talked about gassing trans people to death (while impersonating J.K. Rowling for some reason). Explicit hate speech and incitement to violence risk getting the forum shut down, and will not be tolerated.

It was just a parody account that popped up at some point last year and would usually, out of the blue, post very 'faceless' trolling posts (i.e they'd just post incendiary videos or lists of members they disliked, or sometimes would make posts and then delete them).

I get the sense they were meant to be a committed parody of Bowlestrek, but it felt like whoever created it just immediately had other plans and so wanted to use it just to stir up drama.

I hate to use the word 'autistic' to describe their posting behavior but they kind of came off that way (and indeed they seemed they were maybe further on the spectrum than I am).

Their IP address was a match to quite a few other parody accounts here. Including #BeKind. It's not the first of them to be banned.

I was being baited by them a few times. The 'Tanlee' sock account was one of their alts, and they would do quite creepy stuff like track down posts and writings of mine from other sites and repost them under that name to the forum to try and embarrass me.

Yeah- I always connected the two of those accounts for some reason myself. Either way, I was never really sure as to whether the “Bowelstreak” account was satire or not.

As it was a parody of someone who is associated with the alt right, it was probably trying to either parody Bowlestrek, or what SJWs like Mr Tardis think Bowlestrek is like.

Still it was a reckless parody that could have got the forum taken down, so it was just as well that Clockwork put a stop to it.

I don't think BeKind or whoever this person is means to be offensive. Remember if BeKind hates someone then its a compliment, but sometimes their parodies can be a bit ill timed, or from a practical point of view be a danger to this place.

The Terrance Dicks one is a prime example. Again its not meant to be offensive to him, its taking the piss out of people ike Steve Shives who gloated when David Bowie had died (charming) or the feminists who said the hoped Hugh Hefner was being tortured in hell. The timing however was just a bit off.

If BeKind is the same person targeting Tanman though then that's shit. I never liked those parodies, and I am glad that Tanman didn't rise to them.

I reckon BeKind is just someone having a laugh.

Who can blame him? Lets be honest this place is a comedy gold mine overall.

I was never really sure if it was a parody in that they never really parodied any particular person at hand, which only became all the more muddling amidst the random “J.K Rowling” name change (someone who is also worthy of parody in themselves). And yes- this place is exceptional for comedy from an outsider’s perspective. Partly because there’s so much to take the piss out of when it comes to Doctor Who (primarily NuWho), and partly due to the occasional heated debates and discussions here- the likes of which you wouldn’t get elsewhere due to restrictions. Hell, those exact Rob and Rani videos brought me here in the first place (and I don’t tend to join forums anyway). Which brings me to the point that the Hive is also much more libertarian and open to discussion than most Who related internet outlets, which places it streets ahead of basically any other Who forum I know of (evidenced by the many anecdotes from other members concerning other forums such as GB and Roobarbs).

I think the Bowlestreak parody didn't really know where to take it.

To be honest whilst he can get too shouty and angry, and some of his more recent stuff has gotten personal, I don't think Bowlestrek is actually a good subject to parody on reflection.

He isn't actually right wing, sexist, or racist. Despite what idiots like Mr Tardis say. (I was so disappointed in Channel Pup for that video he did. Ironically that was a better source of parody than anything Bowles has done. Channel Pup complained about Bowlestrek getting too personal, whilst insulting his looks and calling him a cinema masterbator. He also didn't have the courage of his convictions and bottled it when Bowlestrek did a response.)

Bowlestrek is just a guy who makes videos. You could maybe get one post out of him being ridiculously over the top (which is a bit of a cheek for some of us to laugh at LOL.) But that's it.

Personally I think Dave Cullen is actually a better source for parody among the right wing Doctor Who fans. I noticed that the likes of Trilbee don't focus on him. Probably because he has a huge channel, and fanboys who would swamp Mr Tardis.

Still Computing Forever is a much better source for comedy with his demented gay marriage will bring about the end of our society, science shows that women are happier in the kitchen, feminity and motherhood are being destroyed by Hollywood etc. He actually IS sexist and homophobic, yet ironically he gets away with it from all the woke DW fans.

As to why the parody account changed to JK Rowling I think that's because JK Rowling recently did a Graham Linehan and started to criticise the trans gender movement.

I can't remember what she said, but I'm pretty sure it was like Linehan, as soon as she criticised the trans gender movement she was kicked out of the woke club. Perhaps the parody account was parodying the SJWs, by making out JK Rowling was a monster who wanted to kill all trans people?

Seems the most likely thing in hindsight.

Either way it didn't bother me, its just if the parody has been targeting specific users. Though I don't think the post calling us SJWs was baiting us. That was clearly a parody too.

Ah- that all makes sense. I always assumed the SJW thread was a parody (given that we’ve all openly criticised them on here), but I wasn’t aware of the Rowling situation. I never saw Bowlestrek as right-wing either- he’s even stated a few times that he’s more centrist than anything else, and even (rightfully) advocated first and second wave feminism in his response to Pup’s video (which I agree was bollocks- I never really rated his content highly anyway, although I don’t revere Bowlestrek highly either due to how repetitive he is these days).

Mr Tardis is rather disingenuous in who he attacks, frankly, and it’s a shame that the likes of Lord Slarr are now following his narrative. You might disagree and think that its more widespread, but to say that Clarkson himself is a holocaust denier because of that which Shilbee did is disgraceful.

He also lied about Sargon of Akkad, claiming that he said that feminists deserve to be raped and had to retract that statement.

He also accused Gareth Roberts of saying Trans people don't deserve rights.

Finally and this is my personal favourite in his review of Amy 2015, the biopic of Amy Winehouse, he claims that Reg Travis got her hooked on drugs and called him a scumbag.

Reg Travis was her boyfriend in the last two years of her life. He was a big shot director who tried to get her clean off booze. It was Blake Fielder Civil that got her hooked on drugs in 2007, who inspired the Back to Black album.

Mr Tardis however regularly says that it was Reg Travis that did it in his review. If he got them mixed up once, fair enough but he says it dozens of times.

Not only will he get sued by Reg Travis if he sees it, but the little twerp clearly didn't watch the film, or know ANYTHING about Amy or else he couldn't possibly think it was Reg that got her hooked on drugs.

Remember though he cares so much about female led forms of entertainment, that's why he clearly didn't watch an Amy Winehouse film, yet lists 50 shades of grey as one of the female led things he's reviewed.

Reg Travis was her boyfriend in the last two years of her life. He was a big shot director who tried to get her clean off booze. It was Blake Fielder Civil that got her hooked on drugs in 2007, who inspired the Back to Black album.

Mr Tardis however regularly says that it was Reg Travis that did it in his review. If he got them mixed up once, fair enough but he says it dozens of times.

Not only will he get sued by Reg Travis if he sees it, but the little twerp clearly didn't watch the film, or know ANYTHING about Amy or else he couldn't possibly think it was Reg that got her hooked on drugs.

Remember though he cares so much about female led forms of entertainment, that's why he clearly didn't watch an Amy Winehouse film, yet lists 50 shades of grey as one of the female led things he's reviewed.

I did see that thread. It was highly amusing indeed. And yeah- Slarr seems to have bought into his narrative. He’s frequently re-tweeted Trilbee’s comments concerning sexism in the fandom, and ludicrously claimed that the ratings for this season were actually “quite good”. To be honest, a part of me thinks he’s just trying to seem impartial as he still criticises some of the writing of Chibnall’s era- I think he just doesn’t want to be grouped amongst those who are labelled sexists. He’s been ridiculously critical of the more popular eras of NuWho in the past, and continues to be so now, so I wouldn’t call him a total sellout. Just possibly oblivious to the bollocks of the current regime.
