Is anyone surprised that Eccleston wasn’t involved. I think he’d erase his time in NuWho from history if he could.

Just discovered this. El Patron is a complete idiot and gives us all a bad name. I certainly don't agree with everything she says, but she seems so genuine in her love for Jodie and some of the things he said were totally out of order and hateful and she was right to call him up on them. I've warmed a lot to Whittaker , but if even if hadn't I think that some of the stuff some people say about her is truly disgraceful. There is a line and some people can't see it.

I think Jodie's an okay actress in other things, but badly miscast as the Doctor.
I recently listened to Paul Cornell's lockdown short story where Jodie's Doctor revisits the girl Tennant sentenced to be locked in a mirror from Human Nature. It describes her Doctor having the kind of mystical commanding presence that Cornell clearly wants her to have, but I just can barely imagine or envision it with much sustainability or credibility.
I used to agree with fans that Peter Davison was bland as the Doctor. Now I see he was actually a very good actor lumbered with an insubstantial mess of a character he just about saved.
Jodie is basically what his Doctor would be in the hands of a lesser actor.

People generally agree that The Fifth Doctor is more Doctorly in his last season than he is in his first two. I liked him from the beginning, but I think he really clicks during The Black Guardian trilogy.
