Of the two, I think Snakedance is the smoother narrative with the sharper writing, and the characters seem to come alive more as more than just colonial stereotypes. It all seemed to come together better.
Kinda always felt very clunky and too dependent on coincidence to me. Snakedance loses a lot of the intrigue by the end for me, and ends a bit too abruptly. But of the two it's the better watch and easier to digest.
Plus it benefits from having no Adric.
Certainly it should've set the standard for the era though never quite managed to, but I guess them's the breaks.

I like both, but: Snakedance - Davison's best story by far.

Easily Snakedance. Kinda is an unintelligible mess that thinks it's cleverer than it is.

Snakedance. Davison's manic, vulnerable performance (Not as good as his tragic and masterful characterisation in Warriors Of The Deep) is a prototype, less developed and not as awesome beta test for the fantastic 10th Doctor
Kinda's just dull. Like 99.8% of Classic Poo.

Kinda is out of this world. I seem to like it more every time I watch it. Snakedance is a nice story with incredible sets, plentiful costumes and competent direction, but the story doesn't quite pull me in like Kinda's does.
