Revealed on Gallifrey Base today

Was the 1990s standing still? A new range of books exploring drama never thought possible before, a new doctor and movie, video games, radio dramas, home video, books, magazines, CDs, weird spin offs made by people who would end up running the show...

Did the show a lot of good. My impression from what I know is the BBC see that as the best way to keep it alive. I think the show should have been rested at the 50th and that was the plan before the film was clipped and Moffat invited to reinvent the show once more.

I do think it needs to go away now. Go back to being a niche, stick to animating the missing episodes and maybe even some BFs.
New Who has had its day.

I think Time of the Doctor would've been the better point to end on in terms of closure and resolving a lot of the loose threads. But overall I think if New Who had stopped on Day, I would've been left with more good-will than bad toward Moffat's time. And I think a fertile book range could've probably emerged from it.
