Genesis.
Destiny's kind of fun though and I see it as a potential also-ran, let down by the usual problems of the era and budget issues.
A part of me thinks it could've made a cool cinema movie.

Joke would have worked if I had said Genesis

Holy fucking shit.
My meds have been upped (true story).
I also put my coffee in the fridge earlier and sat down and sipped on an open tin of pineapple rings (also true).
Basically, my brain is leaking out of my ears.

Actually I would've been happy enough with Genesis carrying on for ten episodes. It felt like it had a lot of story to tell.

Genesis.
Still the best Dr Who story ever, whilst Destiny is a huge disappointment by comparison.

Surely there is no debate on this? Genesis is one of the greatest sci fi stories of all time.
Its rare that a story works on all levels in any series, but Genesis comes damn near close.
Its story, its dialogue, its acting, its direction, even the lighting is perfect and atmospheric.
I don't think its padded at all. If anything the ending is maybe a bit too rushed, though the Daleks turning on Davros is one of the best moments in the shows history.

Infinitic
Heresy: I don't like "Genesis..." at all. Too long, too retcony, The Doctor's dilemma is forced. "Destiny..." is nice, just nice.

Destiny.
The Romana regeneration scene is goofy, but it's built on an interesting premise: the Daleks fighting the Movellans to a draw, neither able to find an advantage. I don't think it really comes together as well as it could, but the scenes with the Doctor and Davros together are great. Even though I like Remembrance better overall, I like Davros best in Destiny.
I don't dislike Genesis, but I do think it's overrated. My favorite Dalek story is probably either Day or Evil.
