Season 26 Blu ray

To have a bit of better news today, season 26 has been announced as the next Blu ray set, out December 23rd. And, to my relief and happiness, will include the original VHS extended version of Fenric (my preferred version, personally), which was not on the DVD.

I’ve been hesitant with the Blu Ray sets for a while, but this is admittedly tempting me.

The fact it's a follow-up of sorts to a reference in Sarah Jane Adventures makes it even better.

Yes, I don't know why they persist on shoving NuWho bollocks into everything. I'm really tired of seeing Janet, too. Still, THREE versions of Fenric and  a Ghost Light workprint. Take my money now!

Likewise. The New Who insertions are bollocks, and I couldn’t abide Fielding’s contributions on the previous sets I got, but I’ll be getting this one either way due to both my affection for the season and all of the additional versions for Battlefield, Ghost Light and Fenric.

I wish they did not include series 11 writers oh well!

What’s so crap about the cat? I never thought it looked too bad myself. And why dwindle on a special effect defect when the story is so laden with atmosphere? More superficiality in play when discussing the old show.

I presume these people have also praised New Who on other reviews?

Some people only care about the special effects these days. That's why when NuWho fans always criticise the classic show they always rag on the effects and NEVER mention the storytelling.

Ironic, given how charmlessly dated and tacky much of early New Who is already.

The guy who referred to Season 26 as a ‘dreary end’ also seemed happy that the ‘rubbish’ ensured the programme’s ‘successful relaunch’ in 2005, which says it all. Why do these people praise the RTD era so bloody much? It’s occured to me that the template for the RTD era was mildly influenced by Survival, albeit with none of the genuine dread, atmosphere and otherness of Survival, which was substituted for pitiful soap opera conventions and moronic mawkishness.

Because they're brain dead. They are also in a very tiny minority these days, yet feel the need to spread their bile wherever they go.

Got the season 26 Blu ray box-set for my birthday today. Looks nice, PQ pretty good.

The NuWho type trailer just made me cringe and repeatedly yell "fuck off" at the screen.

Actually started watching this recently for the first time.

Currently up to Ghost Light....gotta admit, I can see why it was the final year.

Some stuff I like about it but.....dunno.

But, I still have a couple of serials to go. Let's see what happens next.

You're on Fenric next which is pretty well regarded. I consider it one of the very best stories myself. I hope you enjoy that one more.
