Fear Her was HUGE important step forward for DW recognizng the lived experiences of women of color while showing the domestic abuse of toxic masculinity.

And it was a huge important step forward for Welsh newsreaders looking to move into acting, too...

The inability to even spell Doomsday properly is an extra nice touch of authenticity.

Such a difficult season to rate.
The obvious answer should be DIOE, but frankly it's too long and the Dalek voices are shit.
I prefer the movie.
I love the first episode or two of The Web Planet, for being so atmospheric and I like the music. But again, it's so long that it gets boring.
I'm not keen on historicals in the main, and the lightweight comedy of Time Meddler and The Romans is not my thing. The Rescue is pure filler, and The Space Museum feels inconsequential.
That leaves The Chase, which is fun in parts, but uneven, and Planet of Giants which is not fantastic, but it's not too long, and Babs does look rather fetching in those slacks.
So PoG it is.

The direction in Dalek Invasion of Earth is so unbelievably incompetent. Richard Martin did a cracking job on the show in the previous season. What went wrong?

It is strange how inferior the direction in DIE is compared to that of the original Dalek story, which Martin co-directed. I do rate DIE pretty highly, but the direction is very staid to say the least and drags it down considerably.
