Since we are all in agreement that the fandom incrowd of Gatiss, Mofftwat and Chinballs and RTD were the worst thing to ever happen to DW, who would you liked to have seen revive the show instead in the 90s?

IMO John Carpenter would have been a good choice.

Wasn't Verity Lambert's company in the running at one point?
Could have done a damn sight worse than that.

Verity Lambert would have been great and she wanted Peter Cook to play the doctor. Derrick Sherwin would have been someone else that really got Doctor Who.

Yes its sad when you compare Sherwin to Chinballs. Both of Sherwin's choices to be the Doctor, Ron Moody and Jon Pertwee would have been/were perfect to play the Doctor.

That's because he cared about the character and knew the Doctor was supposed to be an old eccentric, professorial, wanderer who didn't fit in anywhere so he went for eccentric character actors.

Chinballs meanwhile knows NOTHING about the character, nor does he care about the character, so casts his talentless friend from Broadchurch to virtue signal and bullies everyone into liking it with MUH REPRESENTATION.

Oh how the show has fallen.

So casts his talentless friend from Broadchurch.

I'm still not exactly sure why Jodie was cast as the 13th Doctor at all to be honest.

Not only is she not that good of an actress, but she also possesses ZERO qualities that you would typically expect from someone playing the Doctor.

Don't get me wrong, a female actor could never possibly do the role justice. Since it's been exclusively a male role for over 50 years. But if you absolutely MUST pick a female, at least choose someone that has a certain degree of charisma, quirkiness, unorthodoxy and presence about them.

Jodie has absolutely none of these things. There are literally SO MANY better options out there for a female Doctor it's not even funny.
