Just for fun, what Scifi films would make great Doctor Who stories in your mind.
The First Doctor/Planet of the Apes - This has Hartnell written all over it. Replace the crashed spaceship with the Tardis and your gold.
The Second Doctor/Aliens - All the Alien films fit the "base under siege" style stories of Troughton but Aliens is the closest. The Doctor and Jamie running down corridors from Xenomorphs and teaming up with Ripley and the Marines.
The Third Doctor/The Terminator - Could work in a similur manner to Day of the Daleks. Pertwee meets John and Sarah in the present day running from a Terminator but ends up going to the future the world ruled by Skynet.
The Fourth Doctor/Westworld - Think Robots of Death but with more cowboys and debauchery.
The Fifth Doctor/Jurassic Park - Not shore why but this just feels like a good fit for Davidson.
The Sixth Doctor/Escape From New York - again not shore why but it feels like a Baker story. Maybe it's that grim 80's feel.
The Seventh Doctor/Phantasm - McCoy faces of against the Tall Man, a being who intends to take over the earth in every reality.
