An Unearthly Child is excellent and criminally underrated, often dismissed as turning into a dull historical after the creepy atmospheric first part. I respectfully disagree as we see who Hartnell is and how he works. Great start. 8.5/10
The Daleks is a fucking masterpiece, at least for the first 4 parts, the atmosphere is beautifully haunting, the menace of the titular creatures is masterfully shown and the TARDIS crew have finally slotted comfortably together performance wise. It's just a shame the last 3 parts are a tedious drag but the first 4 parts excellence rises above it. 8/10
The Edge Of Destruction is great, an underrated two parter that is very claustrophobic, disturbing and well acted for the most part. 7/10
Marco Polo is a really enjoyable historical, although I do find myself concurring with Ludders that it is a bit overlong. Still highly enjoyable though. 7/10
The Keys Of Marinus is sadly the weakest link of the bunch, a rather dull effort by Terry Nation despite the Voord being interesting. 4/10
The Aztecs sees things briefly pick up again with one of the series best historicals and some pretty good character development for Barbara. Great stuff. 8/10
The Sensorites is criminally underrated, a rather entrancing, surreal tale which never fails to grip, plus Episode 1's cliffhanger is fucking excellent. 8/10
The Reign Of Terror is okay, nothing standout but still an mostly decent affair. 6/10
All and all, Season 1 is a terrific season that kicked the original series off with style and does an excellent job at kicking off the marvelous journey of the next 26 years. A*.
