Silver Nemesis

Pros:

Excellent Keff McCulloch score.
Lady Peinforte and Richard are fab.
More Cartmel Masterplan elements.
Shot entirely on location and generally looks nice.
Humour.
Similar plot to Remembrance.
Plenty of action sequences which are well handled by director Chris Clough.
Cybermen look great.
Ace kicks arse.


Cons:

Ending feels rushed (because it was).
Strange audio problems.
Should have been four parts.
Really dodgy effects even for the era.

A less preachy version of Battlefield.

For me that's a plus.

Harmless fun. Certainly better than Revenge of the Cybermen...

I prefer it to quite a few Cybermen stories. The Moonbase, The Wheel in Space, Revenge (although I prefer everything to that) and Attack.

I wouldn't go that far.

Not nearly as good as Invasion and Attack, only slightly below Wheel, slightly above Tenth Planet and Moonbase, and way better than Revenge and Earthshock.

I like Silver Nemesis. I think it's underrated because people tend to compare it unfavorably to Remembrance without really judging it on its own merits, because it does have a similar plot.

It's crap but it's fun, entertaining crap. The Cybermen are rather badly handled and the plot is rather shaky but it makes for a fun watch and it does leave hints towards the upcoming Fenric arc.

And the VHS has a neat looking green cover that's different from all the others.

I'm sure that version will be on the Season 25 Blu ray. I was bummed out by the fact that it wasn't on the DVD.

This story should really have been 4 parts. Too much choppy editing in episode 2 and too many villains for a shorter story - Lady Peinforte, Cybermen, Nazis, skinheads etc - and there's a very odd cyberman death scene. Ace with the catapult was a favourite topic of discussion in the schoolyard though!

Good for a laugh.

I love this one. Saw it before Remembrance too (though I still prefer Remembrance) and was my first Sylvester story. Pentforte is a hoot, so is Richard. Cybermen are pushovers but that battle with the Nazis is iconic for me.

I used to think "Eradicate them" was "Irenicate them" for years because of the way Banks delivered the line. Thought DW had taught me a clever word

Having people that like or don't like certain eras can be advantageous.
Selling Warrior's of the Deep on eBay almost paid for my purchase of the Beneath the Surface box set.
