Superman (1978) vs Man of Steel (2013)

Is the original Donner flick still the ultimate Superman experience or is Snyder's Man of Steel a step up?

Superman is a much better film. I found Man of Steel to be a soulless clone of the Dark Knight films. It wasn't appealing in the slightest and I HATED the fact they muted the colours.

I've still not seen Man of Steel.

Wonder Woman is still the only film I've seen from the recent DC Cinematic Universe.

Was it good?

The Chris Reeve films are too apple pie for me.

I've worked out that Ludders is a future version of myself. I've somehow travelled back in time to punk my younger self by disagreeing with everything I say.

I've been bigging up Man of Steel on all the Superman threads. I really like it.

But yeah, it does amaze me that almost everything you mention is something that I think is either meh or shite.

The 1978 version i prefer i like the story better it is more fun brilliant music good acting

Not quite. I'm 57 next month, and you're what? 20?
It would actually make more sense for me to like the old Superman films, and for you to like the new ones.
Same with the 80s... You weren't even alive, so you must have some kinda retro thing going on. If it was me it would have to be 1950s or something.
I think it's more complex, and just down to taste. For example, In 1977 I loved Punk music, but hated all that disco shite and Saturday Night Fever bollocks.

Superman 1978. Much better and more enjoyable.

I like Man of Steel but its got no heart or soul.
