Anti-Sex Work Crusaders Now Coming for Legal Prostitution in Nevada
"Of course the voices of actual sex workers are nowhere to be found," says brothel worker and PhD student Christina Parreira.

"Not only is this group trying to take away my livelihood, success and freedom, but also they are trying to take that away from the hundreds of women I work with and the hundreds of staff that these four brothels employ."

If women want to bang sweaty, balding middle-aged men for a decent living or to fund their education, then who are they to object?

Why are these 'crusaders' so obsessed with getting involved in other people's consensual and legal business?

I can understand the concern for streetwalkers and the brutally pimped, but both of these issues are a result of a lack of a legal framework, so killing legal brothels is probably the most counterproductive thing you can do for women's safety and well-being.

The Great Happiness Space is a documentary about Japanese Gigolos (Hosts) by a British director which is very interesting. It shows these 'Hosts' entertaining female clients and then reveals that many of these female clients are themselves sex workers spending a huge amount of money on these guys. It's a parasitic symbiotic relationship that is bizarre and shows a great unhappiness in these people who seem to feel trapped in their situation.

This guy compares it to a similar film https://2400express.wordpress.com/2012/01/29/a-tale-of-two-host-clubs-yaoh-vs-the-great-happiness-space/

Is sex work still the most dangerous profession? The data suggests so

Romina Kalachi, a 32-year-old woman, was stabbed to death in her own home on May 29, 2017. She was killed in her flat in Kilburn, London and is the latest known sex worker to be murdered in the UK.

In 2007, Hilary Kinnell wrote a book chapter, Murder Made Easy, followed by her important book Violence and Sex Work in Britain, an accumulation of research and practice-based knowledge about the extent of violent crimes and homicides against sex workers in the UK. She reported comprehensively the nature of violence against sex workers, who the perpetrators were and heavily criticised the legal context in which sex workers worked.

A decade on, the reality is that those working in the commercial sex industry likely remain the most at risk of violent crime.
