Why is this surprising? It's physical assault against a Police Officer at the least.

As for sexual harassment in general, it's obvious that the male/female reactive psychology differs considerably. Looking through my own memories there are at least a dozen instances of unwanted sexual contact from women I weren’t attracted to, the likes of which would most certainly be considered offence-worthy sexual harassment if I were myself a woman, and none of which were more than slightly and briefly discomforting. Rather than being angry, or distraught I largely felt sorry for them at the time. I'd assume this to be the same for most men.

Yet as a rule, when the standards of male-to-female sexual harassment are steeply increasing - it's only sensible to retain something of the concept in reverse. It could be said that the significance is in the assailant not in the assailed: the lack of regard displayed rather than the degree of distress the victim may or may not have experienced.

Fine by me. It lost all credibility as a platform for sincere, balanced debate when it started wheeling out cunts like Alan Johnson and Liz Kendall as representatives of "the left".
