Worst New Who regeneration story prior to 2017

I assumed Twice Upon a Time would be the obvious choice, so I decided to omit it from this poll. Which is the worst New Who regeneration story prior to 2017?

God, it really is crap. Even after recently tearing it apart on a different thread, I’ve missed so many other things it completely fucks up at.

No contest. End of Time.

At least the other two have their charms.

Time of the Doctor. Don't get me wrong, End of Time is appalling, but there's some salvagable stuff in it, mainly Wilf, who is one of the best things about NewWho. And there's something about Tennant's performance in it, that screams "God, this script is bad, but I'll try my hardest to save my performance". Time of the Doctor screws up all the buildup from Series 5 and 6 (seriously, how did we get from cracks in the cosmos that are altering time and space to cracks actually being Time Lords trapped in a alternate dimension? Since when were the Silence established as a religious cult?) and retcons the Doctor's true regeneration just because fans don't want the show to end. That said, like Tennant, Smith tries to save this dire script with his performance, I actually think that his character was actually written decently here and his regeneration scene I would argue is one of the best in the franchise. I just hate Time of the Doctor more because of how utterly skewed the setup was, and almost retroactively destroys my love for Series 5 (keyword almost, as I still think that Series 5 works enough to be a standalone Series). I actually really love Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways, it's my favourite regeneration story next to Caves and War Games.

Especially with all that "I dont wanna go" crap.

Time of the Doctor. End of Time is shit, but I don't GAF about the 10th Doctor or his era. Smithy deserved a better sendoff.

Agreed it marked the death of the Doctor as a character by making all of his regenerations into different people.

It also showed how narcissistic RTD was. He made the new team feel about as welcome as a foot fungus.

You only have to look at the behind the scenes interviews to see how up himself RTD was. He went on about how David Tennant was the best person to ever play the Doctor, and so he had to give him a piece of tv gold to go out on, and then patted himself on the chest saying "mission accomplished."

It doesn't take much to be reminded of how far up his own arse RTD is. People like him surround themselves sycophants and delude themselves into thinking their sycophants represent the opinions of the majority of people. Trouble is, there are rather a lot of sycophants around.
RTD is the type of bloke who'd bottle his own farts and pass the bottle round for everyone to sniff.
Difference between him and Moffat is that Moffat would bottle his up and have them kept in a cellar for decades so they'd mature. And even after he'd keep them all for himself to sniff 'coz they're too good for anyone else.

Btw... I haven't voted in the poll because I've only seen the first two.
Based on that I'd vote End of Time, but I strongly suspect that Time of the Doctor might be worse.
