https://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin has a load of themes that can be used and customised, feel free to look through them and share any you like the look of, the current theme sucks.

I could do something with this theme https://en.hitskin.com/search-a-skin/baker-skin/202674 if we decide to go with a pub/bar theme for general chat and a place for arseholes to hang out...

@Rawkuss thanks. I've already changed the theme, the forun icons are a lot better on this and the online icon doesn't take up part of the posts.
If/when everyone else gets here we can decide on any big changes to the place. I'm a horrible dictator, though you are on a warning for liking Love and Monsters.

If we're going to go for that style I'll try and get on it in a few days. I'll probably get rid of the blue at the top.

Dunno, forgot about it to be honest. Maybe put it up to a vote?

I rather like the 'Undefined' theme myself- it already has a spacey kind of background, and with a Who-themed banner heading, it could look wicked, as Dorothy McShane would say...

Not a fan.
It makes no sense whatsoever for a place like this to use the NuPoo Series 11 font for it's logo.
Couldn't we put together something else that's more reminiscent of Classic Who instead?

It looks terrible. The simple and inoffensive one we had before was far more fitting.

Fraid I don't like the new logo either, sorry.
It looks too much like Victoria Wood dressed in a Rod, Jane and Freddy suit for me.
Then again, I wouldn't pay too much heed to my opinion because I doubt I will be posting here very soon (I rarely post these days anyway) because I don't see much point in posting on a board dedicated to franchise I have absolutely ZERO interest in anymore because it's been bastardised beyond all recognition.
I'm not going to be watching and commenting on a shitehouse retconned re-envisioned corpse of a programme for a load of self-righteous media luvvies to all circle-jerk around before hi-fiving each other.
I've already taken my Doctor Who videos and DVDs off the shelf and boxed them away in storage to make room for something more interesting and the target books and annuals will also be following suit soon.
Maybe one day my interest will be ignited again when the franchise isn't being run by pathetic fanboy hacks wanting to re-invent the wheel all the time to distract from the deficit in their creative talent, until then, fuck Doctor Who.
It's fucking shit.
All I can conclude is, I'm surprised I lasted as long through the NuWho dirge as I did.

I dislike NuWho as much as the next guy, but I've never understood this weird train of thought that I frequently see from disgruntled Classic Who fans.
The fact that NuWho exists doesn't magically make the Classic Series retroactively bad. You can just continue watching the classics and pretend that NuWho doesn't even exist. Just file it away in the back of your mind as non-canon.
To store away all your Classic Who DVD's because of a shitty, unfaithful reboot just seems like such an overeaction if you ask me.

I can only agree. Frankly, it's letting the New Who shitlord brigade win and have far too much power over you.

I understand the sentiments and normally I would agree, however I have watched the classic run so many bloody times now that I am bored shitless with it. I could almost recite word for word all of the dialogue throughout 26 years.
It's not purely the shiteness of NuWho which has prompted this decision, but the lack of any good new material.
If for example Evil Of The Daleks was suddenly found and released on DVD, of course it would find a place on the shelf, or indeed if say a McGann 8th Doctor spin off was conceived or a Classic Series continuation done like "Star Trek Continues", then it might persuade me back into the fold again, but as far as I'm concerned the franchise is more dead now than it was during the 90's.
I have no interest in it at all and have completely exhausted the knowledge and information to be gleaned from the Classic Series.

Na, I agree. I Haven't watched truwho for ages and I can't see myself going back to it anytime soon. I'll stick around because there are many great discussions and topics to take part in that are not Who related.

I just think that's sad. I increasingly can't watch any new who, even stuff I previously thought was good, but it just makes me watch the real thing with even more appreciation.

I just don't have time to watch the old series at the moment and there are so many things other than Doctor Who. Hitchcock made many great films I still haven't seen, for example.

I've watched some classic Who stories recently.
Some I've enjoyed, but some previous 'favourites' of mine just don't stand up to any serious scrutiny.
I guess the nostalgia blinkers have fallen as the breadth of my TV watching has increased over the years.
I still adore many aspects of DW and there are many stories worthy of praise, but the wonderful premise of the show was failed by low budgets, poor acting, rushed, hack writing and very poor production decisions.
These mistakes are at the core of the failures of the new show too. However, the pomo clique have taken many things which were good about the classic stories and trampled them. The old show had a unique spirit of adventure; an absurd show which took itself seriously in spite of its evident flaws. New Who celebrates its weaknesses as virtues in a very obtuse, self-referential way, nodding and winking to viewers in a way which disposes with true suspension of disbelief. It betrays a lack of faith in the concept of the show; that it could ever be taken seriously. Such is definitely a manifestation of that particular clique's historical embarrassment, which has already been well-discussed around here.

I'm in the same boat as Mr.Happy. There's just so much more material out there that I'd rather discover and watch, to be honest. I was watching a movie about a dominatrix satanist who serves an evil entity and goes on a blood eating rampage in search of her ex-boyfriend and a mysterious jewel. Two creatures from another world set off to warn the ex-boyfriend before it's too late. Unmissable stuff.

In relation to the theme, I think Monk has said once or twice he has problems with his eye sight, is it perhaps worth changing the colour of the text to white rather than light grey on dark grey?
