Who said being a writer is hard? This author got a $787,500 advance for her second book. It went on to sell 31,900 units.

Here's a great article on the economics of publishing -http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/01/business/media/01ebooks.html - and handily, it uses the price point of Ivanka's book as its example.

"the publisher sets a suggested retail price. Let’s say it is $26. The bookseller will generally pay the publisher $13. Out of that gross revenue, the publisher pays about $3.25 to print, store and ship the book ... For cover design, typesetting and copy-editing, the publisher pays about 80 cents. Marketing costs average around $1 but may go higher or lower depending on the title ... Let’s not forget the author, who is generally paid a 15 percent royalty on the hardcover price, which on a $26 book works out to $3.90 ... Without accounting for such write-offs, the publisher is left with $4.05, out of which it must pay overhead for editors, cover art designers, office space and electricity before taking a profit."

Forbes are being wildly optimistic if they think Random House only lost $220,000. *At most* Random House's total revenue from the book was $414,700.

Trump is officially lying about his weight and height now. Which is odd, considering both of those are easily disproven facts.

Just get a better Democrat candidate than Hilary (That's the height of their talent pool?!) and spend the coming years getting them on TV and hustings and they'll hopefully get in next time.
No Oprah though. Come on, either admit the whole show is a joke or give them people to inspire to vote over Trump.
Surely not that hard?

Why didn't they just go with Bernie Sanders? I have seen a few people claim it will benefit the Democrats in the long run as Trump will make them toxic and unelectable for a while after he is ousted.

Unless they put Hilary up again.

Still scratching my head over why he didn't get picked as he seemed to be connecting with people a lot more.
But that's American politics for you.
