I'm certain Capaldi exits in the Monk three-parter...or the regeneration kicks off there, based on what I saw in the scene where it happens (there's a "truth" statue on the desk)

A lot of buzz on Facebook etc. but no official announcement so far.

Apparently the new Doctor will appear earlier than expected. Hmmmm....

It would be rather unfortunate for Capaldi to bugger off so soon just as he finally gets a half-decent companion.

The BBC have been forced to reassure fans that ‘no casting decisions have yet been made’ for the upcoming series of Doctor Who

Well that's bollocks for a start. The decision was probably made months ago.

Unless they're being disingenuous and are referring to the guest roles for season 11 (the new Doctor will of course appear some time in the current series, not the next one).

It's just a fob answer you would expect from an underpaid employee that has to suffer raging dickheads for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. I let up other people make their own minds up about these things but that's my reading of it.

I do doubt that the BBC would make that move because they are too scared of alienating fans.

Richard Mylan seems to have come out of nowhere as a contender. Is currently teasing fans on Twitter with non-denial denials.
