It's a shame it's not a missing story but I don't have a problem with it and can see the logic in doing it now (Tom's not getting any younger unfortunately). Sod the McGann version, frankly; Shada is a Tom story not an also-ran story.
It's actually quite an intriguing move in opening up the animations beyond just the missing stories -
maybe they could animate some BFs, like Colin's lost season? - Though if we're only going to get one a year we'll all be dead by the time they finish off the missing stories...

Can't fucking see it in my country. WTF. Bet they'll still want us to buy it, though, right?

How dumbass can you get.

The animation doesn't thrill me, tbh

It still boggles my mind why Shada of all stories is getting re-re-released..

It's fairly obvious, really. Aside from it bound to be a big seller because it's Tom, there's the simple - if rather disconcerting - fact that if they don't do it soon, they may never be able to. Tom ain't getting any younger.
It's a great story anyway and I'm happy to see it.

Although not strictly relevant to Who, this is a fascinating bit about the remarkable recovery of a missing Morecambe and Wise episode from a piece of film (found by a certain Mr Morris in Nigeria in the same place as Web and Enemy) that seemed to have deteriorated beyond all repair.

Kinda makes you hopeful, at least!

Whispers on Twitter that a missing episode find announcement may be incoming... As always, believe it when you see it.

I reckon on nothing this year. Perhaps not even next. Sad

I'd kill for an episode of the Savages or something

VERY interesting Radio Skaro podcast with Paul Vanezis, in which he confirms what many fans have long suspected - that there ARE private collectors with missing episodes of Who, says he knows it for a fact, that there is a chance they may eventually give them back but that you can't pressure such people. However the fact that this is coming from Vanezis, someone not exactly known for being so informative, has already set speculation wagging that maybe some already have. Either way it's quite big news.

He said that a while ago on FB, two episodes.

"Paul Vanezis: Cliff, the odd eps with collectors wouldn't be enough to warrant a release, so we'd just be in another 'Underwater Menace' situation."

Excuse me while I go and lay down from all the excitement...

I remember around 2013 reading something about some members of the restoration team, Paul V I think, being sure that a collector had an episode of The Savages and Macra Terror, 2 and 1 respectively I think. But I've not heard anything more about this...

Doctor Who archivist Paul Vanezis, who discovered four missing episodes in Cyprus back in the '80s, has offered hope for fans all over the world; he believes the 97 lost episodes could yet be recovered. According to Vanezis, the black and white episodes are in the hands of private collectors

I am pretty sure they are taking him wildly out of context there LOL

I see

43.15 Found in Cyprus, what's that all about?
